TO my dismay I came home to find an A4 piece of paper shoved through my letter box from Wirral Council about their plans to introduce traffic-calming measures to the Annesley Road area of Wallasey consisting of 14 speed bumps - in a residential area that has one way in and out.
This is the same local authority that has made so many cut-backs it cannot repair roads that are an absolute disgrace.
And yet they still have the audacity to impose traffic-calming measures and claim it’s in the interest of safety.
I am also led to believe they have already purchased thousands of 20mph speed limit signs to create blanket coverage of the borough.
Where is all this money coming from?
We have an authority hell-bent on spending our cash on what it deems fit - and not on what is practical in the true interests of safety for all.
