IT saddens us to hear people criticising their experiences at Arrowe Park Hospital and we feel compelled to write to share the wonderful care and compassion we were given over the last week as the staff at the hospital looked after my husband who sadly passed away this week.

From the moment the ambulance was called by our GP during a home visit, we cannot praise the professionalism and support experienced during our "journey."

Without exception the paramedics, the staff in the trauma unit and then onto the acute medical ward were kind, empathetic and supportive.

A special mention must go to the team in ward 21 and the MacMillan nurse who cared for our beloved Alec during the last days and hours of his life - they were truly amazing and cared for him and our family with such dignity and concern.

Thank you Arrowe Park, you were truly wonderful.
