FURTHER to two letters in the Mailbox section of your newspaper recently, I also wish to express my concern in the fields on Greenbank Road, West Kirby, being locked.

I have been told that a number of years ago this field was "gifted" to the children of West Kirby by a benefactor, therefore the council has no right to give the field to West Kirby Wasps for their sole use as it belongs to the children of West Kirby.

I have three children who used to use this field on a regular basis for walks and ball games but are unable to do so as it's now constantly locked.

I have a recent letter written to a friend of mine with regards this field from the Wirral West MP at the time, Esther McVey, assuring them that access would never be denied.

How then is it this football club is being allowed to padlock the gates?

I would assume this is a very sore topic with local residents and maybe your newspaper would like to run a full article on the matter.
