I HAVE just received a copy of Wirral Council's "pragmatic, innovative and bold five-year plan" in which they set out a "long-term plan to bring about real change."

However, I was bemused to see that they highlight the expansion of the Burbo Bank offshore windfarm as one of the council's business success stories.

Yet just two pages on, they announce that they "will work to promote and grow the borough’s tourism offer, making Wirral a place even more people enjoy visiting."

So the council, having helped ruin Wirral's main attraction to visitors - its sea views - by encouraging the spread of wind turbines, will have to work even harder to attract visitors to the peninsula. Some vision.
