IN A recent visit to Wirral West John Prescott made some sexist comments aimed at our local Conservative candidate Esther McVey.

Feigning ignorance of who she is, he claimed he only knew the “girl” because of the dress she wore to Westminster.

It concerns me that the man who is now a special adviser to Ed Miliband firstly, is allegedly unaware of who a member of the cabinet and the Minister for Employment is and secondly, is more concerned with female politicians’ appearances than their policies. It says a lot that the Labour Party have not condemned these sexist comments.

It is irrelevant and offensive and I hope John Prescott is suitably ashamed of his archaic attitudes that have no place in modern society.
