I WAS under the impression that councils had been asked to lessen their over-zealous pursuit of motorists.

Not so, it would seem, with Wirral Council.

Twice, in a week, I have seen their spy car in operation in Birkenhead and Liscard.

They are paying an employee wages to sit on his backside for hours on end to collect fines from their favourite cash cows, Wirral motorists.

Also, if the rumours are to be believed, they are going to bring in parking charges at Fort Perch Rock. This could mean clogged side roads.

Morrisons’ car park up, filling up, they could charge for parking.

What a short-sighted council we have at the present time.
