I DO not care about political party claims and statistics, all I know is my household bills have increased a lot in the past five years while my income has reduced.
I am also aware some sections of community have seen their wages raise quite dramatically, especially those who I would call high earners.
Now if a party would promise to start from the top to reduce the deficit they would sweep the board at election time, and I suggest the following manifesto:
- Cut the number of Members of Parliament and councillors by 30 per cent.
- Fix a rate of pay for the Prime Minister and all MPs with no added extras like expenses, second homes, travel benefits and employment of family members etc. Fix the top rate of pay for all those paid from the public purse to a limit of no more than eight time the national average wage.
