LIKE my colleague Esther McVey, I can confirm to R Baines (Globe Mailbox) that all Wirral Conservatives are fully behind Lyndale School's fight against Labour’s heartless decision to close such a wonderful "home" to some of our most vulnerable children.
A closure which Labour-run Wirral Council have admitted does not even save money as the funding is ring-fenced.
Some months ago, I had a meeting with the secretary of state for education, Nicky Morgan MP, to discuss the issue.
Unfortunately, after her department examined it, they were forced to concede they don’t have the power to overrule.
If R Baines and others wish to join the fight, I suggest they bring pressure to bear on all those politicians who have singularly failed to oppose Labour on the council.
