THERE are few things more annoying than the never-ending grasping attitude of Merseytravel, which seems to regard Wirral motorists as a perpetual source of income through their tunnel tolls.

It seems inconceivable they feel "justified" in considering yet another increase based on the area’s alleged economic recovery.

TIf there has been such a recovery, and that's debatable, it's no thanks to the likes of Meresytravel and their highwayman-like attitude to other people’s hard-earned money.

It's way beyond the time for these tolls were scrapped.

The debt from the initial building costs must have been returned ten-fold by now.

Yet still they come asking for more every year as if they have some god-given entitlement to pick the pockets of Wirral drivers.

It's about time our local politicians found some courage for once to tell Merseytravel that enough is enough.
