I SHOULD like to comment on the reported response by Cllr Phil Davies to Cllr Leah Fraser’s criticism in the Wirral Globe, November 19 edition headlined Shock as derelict shops crash into street.
In effect he says the collapse is a consequence of "her" government not providing the funds that he had earmarked for his renewal scheme in Egremont.
His plans for Egremont were to be executed using money he did not have and which, like Billy Bunter’s Postal Order from his aunt, may yet never turn up.
The rest of us have to abandon our plans if we don’t have the money to complete them.
Are these buildings to be hoarded – unused – for another six years, out of spite, just to make a political point?
