UNLESS there has been a change in the Highway Code lately, I am certain that drivers must slow down when approaching a zebra crossing and must stop to give way when a pedestrian wants to use one.
Why then do the majority of drivers ignore this code at the numerous crossings in the Tesco Bidston Moss car park, and the one allowing pedestrians to cross from Birkenhead B&Q to Halfords and vice versa?
The fact that these particular crossings are sited on private property is no excuse for ignoring them or the 10mph speed limit that is in place to protect shoppers.
If you are unable to adhere to these rules, then I suggest you leave your vehicle at home or face possible prosecution if you knock a person down.
