I WOULD like to use your letters page to congratulate the council in their magnificent displays of poppies on our roundabouts reminding us all of the bravery by so many of our forebears, and was therefore disappointed to read your article about the mystery of the Wallasey Poppies.
It is sad Cllr Leah Fraser feels the need to publicly criticise employees of the council who I am quite sure do know the difference between weeds and flowers.
I think Cllr Fraser would be better placed in congratulating our parks and gardens department. Under such savage cuts from her Tory-led government, it’s amazing that the department is able to keep our green spaces looking so lovely.
J McManus, Greasby.
