A FRIEND of mine recently underwent a successful hip operation at Arrowe Park Hospital.

But he has since mentioned that when he arrived at 6.50am for a 7am admission appointment, he found more than 35 other people already in one of the waiting areas and all chairs were occupied.

Is there no better way of treating patients than to call in at around the same time so early in the morning?

I hope it just gives a clue to the hospital’s busy workload.
