AFTER spending a good hour tidying the grass with my shears at our family grave in Landican, it is near the hedge opposite the remembrance garden, I was just leaving when a very nice lady asked if I had a pair of scissors she could borrow.
I told her the area in which our grave is really neglected.
She said "show me where it is and I will go round it with our strimmer for you".
I was really touched by such kindness.
I try to keep our plot tidy and plant it out. What a pity the grass cutters at Landican don't notice all the others near it are neglected and try to make it easier for a lady of 88 to achieve her goal of brightening up a small area.
What a lovely lady to be so helpful and kind.
There are still some nice people around.
I thanked her very much, and her husband too.
