AS A motorist, bus – user and regular cyclist, I feel I must speak up for cyclists.
Yes, of course some behave irresponsibly, as do plenty of motorists and pedestrians.
I’m aged over 60 and cycling keeps me fit and gives me great pleasure.
I hope to save the NHS cash by keeping on my bike for as long as possible.
For your correspondent “MW”
to suggest it belongs in the Victorian age is laughable.
I manage to use roads and paths without inconveniencing others, and see hundreds of other cyclists doing the same thing.
Why do we have to be so inconsiderate that we can’t allow a bit of give and take, accept that not everyone likes the same transport options or the same leisure pursuits, and celebrate the diversity of people?
