Trees are victims of Wirral chainsaw massacre

Wirral Globe: Trees in Column Road Trees in Column Road

THE chainsaw massacre continues.

The latest victims being mature trees felled at various locations in the borough, including Dee Lane and Column Road in West Kirby and Birkenhead Park.

The same old excuses are given: diseased, dangerous or perilously close to residential property.

The specimens I have observed look remarkably healthy and very often nowhere near residential property.

Money would be better spent on keeping open Lyndale Special Needs School.

So, name and address supplied, you are a qualified tree surgeon are you?

The 'specimens' you examined all seemed okay in your eyes. Can you provide evidence to back up your claim and the photo seems to be of a tree that has come down destroying a wall at the same time.

The tree that could have killed my family when it came down in the storms earlier this year 'looked' okay but obviously wasn't and has caused thousands of pounds of damage, which is still being repaired plus the trauma to my parents in the knowledge that they where 10 feet away from a 100ft tree hitting where they sat!
