I WAS shocked to read of the felling of a 400-year-old oak and other trees in the Neston area, just to make way for the cable project.
We now have miles of fence posts and signs all over the Wirral from Leasowe to Connah's Quay.
How many trees and hedgerows have been uprooted and at what cost?
Swathes of good agricultural land fenced off with tracks wide enough to land a jumbo jet.
Why was this pipeline not taken up the River Dee? Oh no, I forgot, the next project is burning the coal under West Kirby Beach.
