I AM by no means anti-NHS, but there does seem to be a problem at the moment with communication over prescriptions.

I’m 83 and suffer a degenerative illness that means I need oxygen around the clock.

I had to wait seven days recently for a single prescribed item, making three phone calls each day, while various hospital departments blamed one another.

I ended up having two deliveries in one evening, receiving items I did not even order.

The money wasted must be horrendous if people just put in repeat prescriptions and end up with loads of medication they do not require.

If they get returned they cannot go back into NHS stock.

I sincerely hope they are recycled to developing countries and do some good.
