SERGEANT Kenneth Williams, a Flt Engineer with 518 Squadron at RAF Tiree, was killed, along with 15 of his comrades, in a tragic mid-air collision over Tiree Airfield, on August 16, 1944.
Two Halifax aircraft collided and there were no survivors.
Kenneth's parents were living in Eastham and he was buried in Bebington cemetery.
Ken Organ, son of one of the pilots, has organised a memorial to these aircrew at Tiree, and an unveiling ceremony will take place at Tiree (Inner Hebrides) on August, 16, 2014, exactly 70 years after the tragedy.
A large number of relatives will be attending, and we wish to inform any relatives of Kenneth Williams.
We hope that you can find space for this notice, so that any relatives of Sgt Kenneth Williams are informed.
More details of the ceremony are available from Ken Organ, e-mail - nagro@hotmail.co.uk.
Peter Rackliff, ex-518 Squadron
