I READ constantly in the Wirral Globe about Port Sunlight Village being the "Jewel in the Crown" of Wirral, but having recently been in touch with Wirral Council about cleaning and painting the finger signposts around the village, which are in a deplorable state, I was informed that "there are no funds available at this time."
These signposts are the first thing visitors look for in the village, yet they give a downtrodden impression.
For what I am sure is a mere pittance in the council’s budget, these posts remain intolerable.
There will be plenty of funds found next year to give to Hoylake for improvements for the Open Golf Championship.
Over the years visitors, to Port Sunlight probably bring in more money to Wirral than an infrequent golf tournament.
