THE council has issued a pamphlet entitled "Cycle Wirral."
Unfortunately that title is not only incorrect but also it could lead to accidents.
It should read "Walk and Cycle."
The trail is for both walkers and cyclists.
Also the Highway Code makes it clear that cyclists must give way to walkers. Sometimes a cyclist is followed by a dog or dogs running free.
The Highway Code requires that where dogs and cyclists are on the same path, the dogs should be on a lead.
I did once stop a motor cyclist on the Wirral Way. I informed the council and they put up notices stating that motor cyclists were not allowed on the Wirral Way.
I hope that the council will now issue correct information on this matter.
Modern bells are often inaudible on the Wirral Way.
Helpful cyclists shout and tell the walker which side they will use to overtake.
I always thank them.
