Wirral parking charges are 'malicious folly'
4:02pm Tuesday 15th October 2013 in Letters
I GATHER one Labour councillor found the idea of protests against car parking charges on some Wirral parks hysterically funny.
I think the whole idea is folly, and malicious folly at that, for two good reasons:
1) Wirral is a holiday area with visitors walking their dogs as well as wanting to enjoy these fabulous parks.
What will happen is that they may pay, but all of us who visit those parks daily will enter them another way and boycott the paying parking areas.
2) How interesting that apart from Eastham, only parks in West Wirral are being hit!
What about dear old Birkenhead Park?
Is it being saved from this fate because residents around it vote for the correct political party?
This is where I suspect malice in the same way that potholes abound in parts of West Wirral whereas all the little side roads in Labour voting areas have been beautifully resurfaced.
