Give evidence, not complaints, against fly-tippers
4:00pm Tuesday 15th October 2013 in Letters
YOU recently reported comments from Pat Cleary, from the Green Party, in which he complains about the council's failure to prosecute fly-tipping.
He states that: "The truth is that for years I have been complaining about our council's failure to prosecute fly-tipping."
I would ask the question "Instead of merely 'complaining', has Mr Cleary submitted any evidence?"
Without evidence, it is extremely difficult for us to identify offenders and hold them to account.
Instead of trying to make political capital out of what is a serious issue, Mr Cleary should submit any evidence that he has, to ensure that we CAN prosecute.
Cllr Brian Kenny,
Labour councillor for Birkenhead & Tranmere and Cabinet Member for Environment & Sustainability.
