Wirral 'spy car' debate: What happened to responsibility?
1:50pm Tuesday 8th October 2013 in Letters
SOME thoughts on the "spy car" debate ... What happened to responsibility?
Bottom line is that we as drivers are responsible for the vehicle under our control, and that includes parking. Red lines, double yellows, zig-zags, driveways etc are all clearly visible (if not, there are grounds for appeal).
If you park on them, you take a risk. Same applies to speeding - if you get caught, you pay, there has to be some form of penalty, otherwise how can anything be enforced ?
It is only a cash cow because so many of us risk getting caught!
However, I do query the validity of councillors and ministers getting paid for discussing what is fundamentally a black-and-white issue - initiating, at our expense, a specially-constructed vehicle without consideration for its legality.
Now that is crazy. Who's responsible for that gem?
Keith Brammah, Moreton.
