Sad that Globe reader is distressed by sound of children playing
1:08pm Tuesday 10th September 2013 in Letters
WHAT a pity it is that your anonymous correspondent "distraught resident" finds the sound of children playing so upsetting.
My daughter loves to play on her trampoline and when her friends join her it can get a bit noisy.
I was recently approached by an elderly lady who lives in a nearby block of retirement apartments. She asked "Is that your daughter with the trampoline?"
I assumed she was about to complain, but instead she said how lovely it was to see and hear children enjoying themselves in the fresh air and how she likes to look out of her window and watch them playing.
With all the problems of childhood obesity, surely it is better for children to be out exercising than stuck indoors playing computer games?
