Plea to Wirral Council: "Put away your yellow paint"
2:10pm Tuesday 3rd September 2013 in Letters
IN-line with Governernment "recommendations" to cease to be anti-motorist, will our glorious leaders reduce their insidious growth of the web of yellow lines, ludicrous cycle lanes, parking restrictions and ever-increasing parking fees enforced by private companies of dubious authority?
I for one would like to think so. However I fear the answer may be no change, more change.
What was in their weird collective minds to install new yellow "no parking" lines along Pasture Road, Moreton, covering their already ridiculous layout of cycle way markings with their right angle deviations on and off the pavement.
All of the present modifications seem to have been based on previous times when Cadbury's was a major employer and the road subject to heavy traffic turning in and out of the factory. Alas such days are gone.
Wirral Council: get yourself a planner who can relate cause and effect, put away your yellow paint and fire your fine-happy parking contractors.
Or lose all your shoppers to out of town supermarkets.
