Wirral is drowning in litter
12:20pm Tuesday 20th August 2013 in Letters
WHAT is happening to Wirral? It's drowning in litter!
Everywhere is covered, the roads, the parks, the pavements and worst of all the water front developments at New Brighton.
I walk home from work every day from Arrowe Park to Thingwall.
Every single step is marred by litter.
Tonight we had a walk on the beach at New Brighton. A nice walk on the beach, but ashamed to see so much litter and the water covered in floating waste.
There were actually people swimming through this floating waste.
All the waste bins are overflowing, surrounded by bags and bags of rubbish.
No wonder people don't care as there is nowhere for them to put waste so they just throw in on the ground.
If the council wants to promote the peninsula as a tourist area, then they need to improve this horrible mess.
It's disgraceful and so avoidable.
The Council should be ashamed.
Employ more people to clean up our area and bring pride back to Wirral.
