Driving standards are a 'disgrace'
2:07pm Monday 19th August 2013 in Letters
YET again on my way home via Lees Lane, Little Neston, I upset drivers behind me by stopping my left turn into Lees Lane from the A540 in order to let a car turn right out of the lane.
As we all know, turning right across traffic is the most difficult of all turns as it is almost impossible to get a break in traffic in both directions at the same time.
I signalled the driver wanting to come out from Lees Lane that it was safe for him to do so, but immediately two cars wanting to turn right from the opposite direction beat him to it.
How selfish can drivers be?
I used to take parties of school children on holiday to France and was often amused by the quirky French way that gave priority to any vehicle wishing to join a major road.
How I wish such a law existed in this country where driving standards in general are a disgrace.
