Why should parking be cheaper in West Kirby?
2:03pm Monday 19th August 2013 in Letters
HAVING read over the past couple of weeks the arguments over parking in West Kirby, can someone please tell me why West Kirby thinks it should have cheaper parking than the rest of us?
Heswall has to pay the same charges as most side roads are so busy and Liscard and Birkenhead have to pay as many roads are subject to resident-only parking.
What makes West Kirby people think they should be treated differently to those living in other parts of Wirral?
All Wirral residents pay council tax so all should pay the same parking charges.
West Kirby had a huge amount of money spent there for the Open Golf while most other parts of the Wirral have had to go without.
West Kirby has had cheap parking for far too long while the rest have had to pay - you are no better than the rest of the borough, so just pay up like the rest of us have to.
