CAB closure is wrong

THE closure of Citizens Advice Bureaux in New Ferry and West Kirby at a time when their services are most needed is very disturbing.

Both are well-placed for access by clients as in New Ferry the office is in the centre and at West Kirby the office is adjacent to train and bus services and for many years clients have come there from long distances as well as locally.

The West Kirby office was opened by caring members of the community about forty years ago and for most of the time since has been opened six hours per day, five days a week and staffed by an average of 30 volunteers trained for the purpose.

Surely those charged with management could have acted earlier and more effectively?
