'Puzzled' by concerns of Wirral dog owner

I AM puzzled to know the motives of the author of the recent letter "So when did this practice become acceptable?" (Globe Mailbox, February 20).

Although a professed dog-owner, he criticises other dog-owners as "anti-social, selfish and inconsiderate."

Why has it taken over six months to write to the Globe?

How does this person dispose of his own pet's excrement when out walking?

Does he think that the contents of public bins are sorted for recycling? And would he allow a child to reach into such a bin?

There is also no need to look as far as Ireland for better alternatives.

Chester and West Cheshire seem to provide plenty of "dog poo" bins in popular walking spots and also seem to have a far more thorough approach to recycling.

However, in the straitened financial circumstances in which Merseyside now finds itself, no doubt it will be several years before Wirral enjoys such favourable facilities.
