Globe should name Wirral councillors who voted against cut in numbers

OUR elected councillors have voted by a majority not to reduce the number of councillors and of course their cost to the taxpayers.

May I suggest that the Globe publishes next April before the local elections the name of those councillors who voted against the proposal.

I realise that turkeys do not normally vote for Christmas.

The simple answer is regardless of what Political Party pretty much all of them voted against the move to reduce their numbers.

That is why Political Party Councilors should be only supported by members of that Political Party and not the rate payers.

Rate payers want representatives, Councilors who work exclusively for and on behalf of the electorate in each and every ward.

Political Party influence should be removed from Local Government, we have enough of that nonsense at a national level with 650 Members of Parliament following the party whips, we certainly do not need 66 parasites at local level doing the same.
