WITH reference to your disclosure on Wirral Council's expenditure on hospitality (Globe, January 23).
Council tax payers will be livid about this extravagance.
The Portrait House is not an inexpensive restaurant, the Royal Liverpool Golf Club is the most expensive club in Wirral, so their food will be likewise.
Let cost-cutting start here.
Recently, the planning department rejected an application to refurbish five council offices and kitchen in Wallasey Town Hall, due to incorrect procedure in the application.
How much would this have cost, had it gone ahead?
This council needs to put its own house in order, before job losses and drastic cuts in services to the public.
P Evans, Wallasey
