Disgusted at amount of dog mess on Wirral beach

I AGREE with Simon Hansen's letter regarding dog mess on our coastline published in the Globe a couple of weeks ago.

I had some visitors staying with me last weekend. I took them to Hoylake where we walked along the coast around to West Kirby and back.

I was disgusted at the amount of dog mess on the beach and rocks.

Virtually every ten metres we were avoiding it.

I was showcasing our beautiful coastline to my friends and this was simply embarrassing.

Why don't these dog owners respect their own environment? They spoil it for everyone else.

It's an absolute disgrace.

I suggest the council impose a ban on all dogs on our beaches.

This is the only solution as "no dog-fouling" signs obviously aren’t working.

The Community Patrol Wardens have given out fines along the beach. I really hope the Council invest more resources to these Officers who are tackling the issue of dog fouling!

Not this old argument. If they ban dogs on the beaches, we responsible owners will go anyway. Why? Because we pay our taxes, are good citizens and use the beaches 365 days a year. Ban families from the beach, who in the summer leave nappies, litter, glass and often after drinking human faeces.

I live in new ferry, and I have a dog it takes a few minuets to pick upt mess your dog leaves and put it in the bin, all down merseybank road and new ferry road there is dog muck it is discusting. I and my friends pick up our dog mess but people look at us as if we are t culprits, poop bags are not expensive you can buy nappy bags that do t job just as well, also to the dog owners who do pick up there dogs mess and throw it on the side please put it in a bin, yes I agree we need more bins by the shorefields
