Birkenhead Park is a place to be proud of

AS a regular visitor to Birkenhead Park, I've noticed that over the past few years, the level of vandalism appears to have has dropped considerably.

Whether people are growing up, and taking more of an interest is arguable, but more and more seem to be taking advantage of the facilities provided, in particular, the visitors centre, and personal exercise apparatus areas.

The football, cricket, angling and duck-feeding seem as popular as ever, and keep-fit enthusiasts are also growing in numbers.

The park is now certainly a place to be proud of and long may it continue.

E McDonald,
Claughton.

I completely agree Mr McDonald, I've noticed how busy it is when I cycle through, the Park is indeed in great shape. Its just a shame that the funding never covered the restoration of the Jackson memorial, its an obelisk shaped drinking fountain, the first thing you see when you enter the main entrance, other than that I love my park
