JAMES Roberts believes that Venezuela's problems, with inflation running at 1000% and the average workers wage now down to £1.50 per month, are solely the responsibility of USA - yet in truth all their problems stem directly from their Marxist ideology.

Most countries have learned not to fall out with the largest economy in the world - even with oil reserves larger than SaudiArabia, as has Venezuela.

And for our part, rather than following Mr Roberts advice by replacing our "lip-spittle Tory Government" with a Marxist alternative, we should keep taking the pragmatic approach by maintaining good relations with the USA, however much their political shenanigans annoy us.

Global trade benefits all who participate, with different nations having different value systems.

Our history books record with regret the Peterloo massacre of 1819 when the local cavalry militia hacked to death 15 people in a crowd demanding parliamentary reform whereas the Chinese have no such qualms having expunged from their history all references to the Tiananmen Square massacre of 1989 when tanks drove over prodemocracy demonstrators at night in their tents, with thousands of demonstrators hunted down and killed nationwide.

The lesson learned is that none of the above affects global trade which carries on regardless.
