THE US conspiracy to have Wikileaks editor Julian Assange extradited to the US to face fabricated charges of "espionage" has been ratcheted up significantly in recent days.

He has been languishing in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for six years, having sought political asylum there in June 2012 to escape Swedish plans to extradite him to Stockholm on spurious charges of sexual assault that have since been dropped.

Since March 28 this year, he has been rendered incommunicado by the withdrawal of his use of telephone and internet.

Visitors have also been banned, apart from his lawyers.

The effective solitary confinement of this pioneering, award-winning investigative journalist coincided with a new right-wing regime taking office in Ecuador, led by Lenin Moreno, which is anxious to curry favour with the Trump administration.

Moreno arrived in Britain on July 21 for talks with Theresa May.

High on the agenda will be evicting Assange from his "political asylum" into the hands of British police, and thence into the hands of the US via extradition.

His only "crime" is exposing US war crimes in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya, and their global plots and conspiracies against elected Governments, like the ones in Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran.

The Trump witch-hunters must not be allowed to put Assange to the stake, with the corrupt assistance of the lickspittle Tory Government.
