ALL I seem to hear about lately is austerity and the different parties having a go at each other.

I am sure we do not want to get into more debt but maybe we should be looking at some of the systems we already have as opposed to bringing in new charges for things like parking in parks and on sea fronts.

Am I alone in thinking that £200 and six penalty points for using your mobile while driving (a very real threat to life) is paltry.

Why not increase this to either £500 or £1,000 and I think we might just see a reduction in numbers, as well as more money for the police and a threat removed.

Every time someone is admitted to hospital either alcohol or drug related, they should be charged a fee.

This is then ploughed back into the NHS.

This is surely more of a deterrent as well as helping the NHS staff, the genuine people waiting in pain and maybe saving the addicts life.

Every time a juvenile is caught by the police, the parents should then pay police for their time.

Maybe parents will then take some action.

To the councillors of Wirral, why not give the people options to choose from, the money has to come from somewhere so let us decide, then the majority wins and hopefully, common sense prevails?

Lets sort out the things that are going wrong before we introduce new things to go wrong.

Please leave the decent hard-working tax payers, the retired and the healthy fresh air people alone and go for the criminals with much harsher financial penalties, who knows what might happen.
