I AGREE wholeheartedly with Jeremy Scott's letter in the Globe titled Resort is Folly.

I would add further, that if this ill-advised scheme is allowed to materialise it will bury this and future generations under a mountain of debt.

Mr Davies and his fellow counsellors have agreed to borrow £26million to fund the scheme.

The pollution noise and destruction to what is left of our beautiful countryside will be irreversible.

We are told the enterprise will be good for business.

Nonsense!

Any jobs generated would be minimal hours and zero hours contract.

And similar projects have been know to take business out of the region.

There is a direct correlation between pollution and heart disease, lung disease, stroke.

High levels of pollution can be fatal to those suffering from severe asthma.

We now know there is a direct correlation between Alzheimer disease and high levels of pollution.

We know the air in Birkenhead and its environs is toxic and not fit to breathe.

These are issues you should be looking at not compounding the problem by bring more traffic noise and pollution into the area.

We have fourteen golf-courses in Wirral already.

Many are struggling to remain viable.

Take a reality check sir and get your priorities right!
