MY Mum Joan was taken into Arrowe Park Hospital earlier this month as an emergency and sadly died six days later.
She was in Ward 24 and I have nothing but praise for the quality of the care there, both for her and for family members that visited at all sorts of hours.
Despite being very busy, all the staff there, along with a very nice volunteer and a MacMillan nurse, all went out of their way to try to ease our pain and hers.
At such times, it is very hard to make any impact on family grief, but the care for us and for mum took a small, but significant corner off our anguish.
I am a fervent supporter of NHS values and principles.
Occasionally, I have had to concede that practice has not always matched up.
Not the case with Ward 24, so a major thank you to Ward Sister Hanna Mulville and her team.
