MR Peerless in the Globe accused me of 'avoiding' the F word in my recent letter.

Not so.

I say loudly: "FRACK NOW!"

We can debate 'Green' anti-fracking propaganda and 'Big Energy' counter propaganda endlessly, but it comes down to this:

  • Do you want the lights to go out?
  • Do you want to lose your central heating?
  • Do you want to go back to cooking with sticks?
  • Do you want to give up your modest family car?
  • Do you want even more poor and old people to die of hypothermia?
  • Do you want to end 'nasty' fossil fuel use now and, supposedly, 'save the earth'?

Or, alternatively import expensive, 'dirty’ fracked gas from the USA or our good friends, the Russians, and bankrupt the country while pretending your hands are clean?

If you do, vote 'Green' or some such, but in the UK only 1.6 per cent do so.

It is time for the silent majority to tell governments and the major parties to abandon Mickey Mouse, fantasy energy 'policies'.

GET FRACKING NOW and buy in as many proven, off-the-shelf nuclear plants as are needed.

I trust that is clear enough, Mr Peerless.
