I READ, with alarm, Prof DP Gregg's comments in Mailbox regarding the 'offshore renewable engineering' boast of Cllr Phil Davies.
While I totally agree with the professor regarding this useless and grossly expensive form of energy production, I was staggered to find he offered shale gas production as an alternative.
I also noted how he avoided the term 'fracking' when referring to the shale gas revolution in the US.
If anybody is in any doubt as to the major threat this form of energy production is to the environment, then I suggest they watch the documentary Voices from the Gas Fields.
This can be viewed on You tube https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=V3K0kV7UcME
The devastation caused in Australia by this form of gas production is truly horrifying.
Please be in no doubt as to the environmental cost, which will be totally irreversible.
