ON Friday, February 23 myself, daughter and two young grandchildren were involved in a traumatic accident at Asda car park in Birkenhead.
The incident resulted in me being knocked to the ground and my legs run over.
My granddaughter, who is five, suffered a fractured ankle.
My daughter was knocked to the ground, suffering shoulder and leg injuries.
My six-year-old grandson was hys- terical and traumatised.
We received so much help from people we did not know and whose names I do not know, that I wanted to put it in writing in the hope that they will see how grateful we were.
First of all, the Asda staff were superb.
On a bitterly cold day they stayed with us for almost an hour, bringing me pillows and a duvet, and keeping our spirits up.
Also, a real gentleman put his coat under my head, a lady in a cream coat phoned the ambulance and another lady in a red coat gathered up my grandson, took him to my daughter and spent some time calming them down and acting as a go-between, so I could find out how they were and vice-versa.
I am sure I have forgotten some people and I apologise for that.
I was not 'functioning on all cylin- ders'.
I just wanted to say what a credit to the Asda their staff were, and a credit to Birkenhead all the other lovely people.
Christine Hankin, Birkenhead
