IN view of the widespread anger at plans for a new golf resort why are the council continuing to fund, and also promote the scheme via the 'Wirral Well Made' plans for "our" future?

Why does Wirral Council advertise a wish to improve the west Wirral coastline and plan to introduce parking charges on the promenades?

These very promenades are part of the visitor attraction.

The logic of these decisions will confuse many and alarm traders.

There is no doubt that much good could come from the £30m Revenue Support Grant, fresh thinking and new investment on Wirral, however the venture must not be a way of sneaking through planning schemes which the locals have declared unacceptable.

Wirral Council has an unfortunate history of presenting a deaf ear to the very people who elect them to their well-paid lifestyle.
