LAST week my daughter went to the Chill Factor in Manchester with her local Brownie group.
The Brownie leader was suffering from a terrible cold but she and her helpers kindly gave up their Saturday to provide a lovely day out for the girls.
The same team put in a huge amount of time and effort to organise Brownies throughout the year, just as hundreds of other noble individuals volunteer to help run all manner of clubs and activities for the benefit of Wirral citizens of all ages.
It’s impossible to list all the organisations.
These activities are only possible thanks to the dedication and sacrifice of kind-hearted individuals, and I wish to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for everything they do.
It is sobering to contrast the efforts of these unpaid volunteers with those of the executives and consultants who remunerate themselves so generously for their questionable services to the borough.
I know who I think makes a great contribution to life in Wirral.
