I RECALL some years ago a neighbour asked why her child's rabbits had fallen sick and died.
So I asked to see where they had been kept.
She showed me a hutch outside with wet, stinking newspaper, in temperatures that constantly dipped below five degrees celcius.
I asked why she left these creatures so exposed.
She said she hadn’t realised they were because they had thick fur etc, believing she provided adequately for them.
Needless to say I gave her some very strong advice to act on!
Would it be possible to remind some Wirral pet owners to look after their animals during the winter inside their homes.
