RECENTLY I contacted Streetscene to complain about the overgrown bushes on Upton Road, Claughton.

They literally overhang the pavement at eye level which would pose a real danger to anyone partially-sighted.

The response was that an inspector would come out to assess the job.

After a couple of weeks I received an email to say the work would be carried out when the weather was too inclement to cut the grass.

I fail to see what that has to do with lopping off dangerous branches.

Also, what does the council class as "inclement."

It has been considerably bad weather for quite a while, or by inclement.

Do they actually mean tsunami proportions?
