I AM a resident of Hoylake and take great pleasure in using the very clean beach we are fortunate to have on our doorstep.
As a responsible dog-owner we run our dog on the beach twice daily.
Like 99% of Hoylake users of the beach, I am fastidious in cleaning up any fouling of the shore so others find it as I left it.
Yesterday, we walked the length of the beach and were left disgusted at the amount of horse dung strewn from start to finish.
I'm left annoyed as a dog-owner I'm expected and compelled to clean up the beach that I've used but horse-owners feel they can use the beach and expect other users, families etc to cope with their animals' mess.
I really think that now that there should be some control implemented over horse riders.
I love to see them enjoying the beach, but owners should be made to understand that others use the beach as well.
