I RECENTLY had to call an ambulance after I fell and struck my head in the middle of the night.

I was so worried, but the man on the phone was so kind and stayed with me until two wonderful ambulance drivers arrived about three minutes afterwards.

I live in West Kirby and so how they managed it is a mystery.

Given the state of the country, I have to say that my expectations were low.

To say that they were exceeded is an understatement.

They packed a bag for me, they cared for me like a best friend and they demonstrated a humane, calm kindness and compassion that was outstanding.

I literally could not believe it.

They made what was a very stressful experience so very much better; and got me to hospital seamlessly.

They also went above and beyond their job and came back to check on me, challenged a junior doctor on my behalf and got me a cup of tea.

What a wonderful service by two outstanding human beings.

I commend Sam and Haley at Wallasey ambulance station and I am so grateful to be able to report such good news.

So many people have so many complaints about the NHS, but these two ladies proved that hope is not lost.

They are a credit to the ambulance service and to our community.

My heartfelt love and respect to both of these outstanding members of our community.

If there was an award for kindness then they both surely deserve it.
