I FELT it necessary to respond to the reader who says parking on the pavement is for safety reasons.
Tell that to a partially-sighted person or a woman with a baby in a pram.
I've been walking along and a car has headed straight in front of me onto the pavement.
If I hadn't stopped he would have hit me.
Pavements are for pedestrians full stop.
Also please note all the cracked paving stones caused by vehicles mounting the pavement - more expense for the taxpayer.
It's all down to common sense; you park on a road with no vehicle opposite you, and if it means going further up the road while you nip into Tesco that's fine, don't be lazy.
These drivers who park on the pavement look at pedestrians as if they are at fault for walking on their space ... unbelievable!
